EL CENTRO — The City of El Centro filed an injunction against Imperial County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) for an improper California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) process that was denied today by Imperial County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Jones, in a press statement released today. Judge Jones stated that the only action taken so far by LAFCO was only a preliminary negative declaration consisting of one page. At this point there is nothing to stop and LAFCO could continue to consider the application on a proposed healthcare district expansion based on an application filed in March by Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District (PMHD), according to the press release.
